Biofiltration & Wetland Filters
Residential Applications
Sometimes called "veggie filters" the advantages of wetland filtration are endless. Small wetland filters can be installed as an alternative to standard biological filters. Highly efficient in both sediment removal and nitrogen conversion wetland filters eliminate the need for filter pads and artificial biological media. The same modular components can be used in negative edge applications eliminating the need for a skimmer as well.
Commercial & Large Scale Applications
Traditional retention systems are designed to accept sediment loads but do little to allow the breakdown or removal of this build up. The result is costly dredging and a complicated disposal process. Wetland filters add to surrounding property values by increasing water quality and providing aesthetically pleasing brooks and waterfalls. The need for dredging properly filtered wet ponds can be virtually eliminated.
Benefits of Wetland Filtration
- Effective suspended solids removal.
- Easy access to collected sediment.
- Improved water clarity.
- Reduced available nutrients from the water column decreasing algae issues.
- Removal of toxic metals, chemicals and hydrocarbons from storm water.
- Effective in both earthen and lined systems.
- Easily retrofitted onto existing systems.
