Rain Gardens

One of the many storm water tools available, rain gardens reduce runoff by allowing water to infiltrate your soil. Rain gardens can reduce pollution reaching our lakes and streams by as much as 30%. By planting heavily with native species rain gardens require little input and are tolerant of disease and insect pests.

The applications of rain gardens are far reaching. With proper design, rain gardens can be useful in providing spaces for spring snow melt along side impervious parking lots or can be installed in targeted locations to decrease the size requirements of retention systems within residential developments.
